We uniquely understand the needs of small business owners. Our success is linked to your success. DLA provides a variety of services to help you start, operate and succeed in your business.
Raising Capital
Raising capital is critical to most businesses and is our most important service. Capital can come from many sources and over a period of time. Many entrepreneurs just starting out, often assume that an "Angel" investor will write a check to bankroll their new "hot" business idea. This is unlikely to happen and we need to get over this notion.
Investors are eager to investment, but based on facts and reasonable probabilities of the success of your plan. Few investors are motivated solely by your enthusiasm and your belief in your dream. You must show them a sound plan with facts and figures.
Based on your capital needs, your credit, assets, your business plan and business type, there are many sources of cash and credit.
-Bank Loans
Getting a bank loan is not easy, but not impossible. To qualify you will need great credit, assets and an extremely well presented loan request.
-Credit Lines
There are sources to obtain sizable lines of personal and corporate credit if your credit rating is good. Credit scores of 720 or better needed for most credit lines, but smaller loans are available to those with scores of 640 or better. these types of credit may include personal lines of credit and credit cards.
-Stocks
The best source for raising large amounts of money remains the option of selling stock in your company. Selling stock can be a complex process to meet legal guidelines and disclosures, yet it remains the most productive long term strategy for a company to raise needed cash. In the early days of your business, this involves selling stock to private investors. This does not mean your stock will be traded on the stock market, they are private placements. There are many legal requirements before you can begin offering your stock to potential investors. You can imagine that it might be easier to raise $1000 from a hundred investors than $100,000 from just one.
There many more ways to raise the money you may need beyond the three discussed here. Its best to discuss your needs and customize a strategy that is right for you.
