Investor/Partner: This type of investor is very hands on and essentially becomes a working partner in the growing business.
Investor/Adviser: This type of investor may share his/her business experience and guide the business along, perhaps by serving on the board or some other consulting role on a limited basis.
Investor/Stock Holder: This investor wishes to help launch the growing business, but chooses to remain hands off. Most such investments are made with other similar investors. Your investment may be spread over several business ventures.
The investment process, in a nutshell, can be as easy as buying stock in the company you choose.
Selecting a business to invest in
We believe you are the best of judge of where to invest your money. The role of DLA is to direct you to various investment opportunities for you to review the particulars, such as:
Business and marketing plan, financial statements, DLA ordered background checks on all the founders and key personnel.
As a registered investor with DLA, you will receive regular updates on business investment opportunities and have the opportunity to sit in on “pitch meetings”. Pitch meetings are opportunities to hear entrepreneurs pitch their projects.
